Position:                    Senior Women’s Head Coach (Strathclyde League)

Hours (per week):      4-6 (Varied depending on games)

Salary:                      Travel expenses covered

Report to:                  Club Development Officer

Contract:                   Season 2014-15

 

Details about the position

 

• To coordinate and deliver high quality basketball coaching to ensure the players within the club improve.

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

• To deliver coaching sessions that are player-centred, structured, progressive, fun and of high quality.

 

• To undertake the necessary planning for each session to ensure the programme demonstrates progression throughout and is linked to the principles of long-term player development (LTPD).

 

• To continually monitor and evaluate all sessions and games.

 

• To undertake administrative tasks associated with the post, including planning sessions, taking registers, consent forms, and liaising with the CDO.

 

• To be a positive role model at all times.

 

• To respect the rights of all participants and ensure that their well-being and safety are considered at all times.

 

 

Additional Information

 

• This post involves working with women and young adults and, if successful, we will seek character and professional references and you will therefore be subject to an enhanced CRB check.

 

• This post will involve some evening and weekend work.

 

• A level 2 coaching qualification in basketball is desired for this position.
