Senior women secure their first win in Ayr   

SLBA Senior Women

Colliers showed up in Ayr with only six players, two of them stepping up from the under 18 squad and they were also ready to play their third game in 5 days.

 

The players went on the court full of energy and with Rhona Mitchell leading offensively they finished first quarter 20-9.

 

In the second quarter young Amy Poulton took over the court and finished the quarter with 5 steals. Half time score 20-36.

 

Colliers tighten their defence on third quarter widen the score margin between the two teams. With a 25-point lead for Colliers in the last quarter they really shared the ball working as a team with intent to get younger player gain more experience.

 

Colliers finished the game with three players in double digits, Carey, Mitchell and Poulton and everyone contributed in scoring.

 

FINAL SCORE:   Ayr Storm 40 SL Colliers 58

 

Coach Maria Vasilaki commented: “Games like this offer a great opportunity to our youngsters to get some experience in Senior level”.

 

“The girls had a solid performance and made it clear from the first seconds that they were the team that is going home with the win.”
