November 9th, 2014 @ the Alistair McCoist Complex

SLBA Senior Women

Final Score: SL Colliers 50 - 35 Glasgow Fever 2

The Colliers senior women were on good form after convincing first win against the Glasgow Eagles, the Colliers therefore looked to end Glasgow Fevers unbeaten run and go 2-0.

In the first quarter the Colliers got off to a great start opening up a 10-2 lead in the first few minutes through some aggressive play from Alison Mitchell and Jennifer Lynn. The lead was maintained throughout the first quarter and the Colliers finished with a 9-point lead.

The second quarter saw Fever increase their defensive pressure, which resulted in the Colliers giving up some forced turnovers, and struggled to hold on to the lead. Fever managed to claw back going into half time down only 2 points with the score being Colliers 22 - 20 Fever.

In the third quarter team captain and key player, Rhona Mitchell got into foul trouble early and had to sit out. This could have seen the Colliers fall behind however the other players stepped up and managed to hold on to a slim 1-point lead going into the fourth quarter.

Not wanting to let their hard work in the 1st quarter go to waste the Colliers came out with all guns blazing in the fourth and pulled off a convincing win.

Alison Mitchell top scored with 16 points followed by 14 from Jennifer Lynn and 11 points from Alison McCusker.
