Convincing win for the Div 1 Men over Glasgow City

 

November 18th, 2015 - The Colliers came out with a convincing start running the floor well complimented with three 3-pointers by Ross Rankin. City found it difficult to keep up with the pace as the Colliers as they finished the quarter up 24-13.

 

In the second the Colliers ran the bench seeing the younger players get into the game with Adam Cooper impressing with his assertive play. However, it was a poor quarter for the home team only winning the quarter by 1 finishing the half up 38-26.

 

The second half saw a good start for the Colliers as they showed good form throughout led by multiple steals by Aarron Mitchinson leading to Aarron and Jay Runga running the break as well as strong finishes from Alex Dobbie.

 

Alex Dobbie top scored the game with 15 points followed by Graham Hunter and Jay Runga with 14 each, Ross Rankin also added 13.

 

FINAL SCORE:   SL Colliers 69 – 58 Glasgow City

 

Aarron Mitchinson commented: “the game went well, it was good to get another win, being part of a new team and system it's still taking time to get used to but I feel that we have been gelling together a lot more and working well with each other.”

 

“We can only keep improving from game to game and keep competing to our highest level.”

 

The Division 1 men’s next game will take place on the 6th of December at Dalry Primary School in Ayrshire (4:45pm tip off) against the Ayrshire Tornadoes.
