Div 1 Men get the Win against WCS Buddies

 

March 23rd, 2016 - The Colliers started off strong with dominant scoring from Michael Lynn, Graham Hunter and Ross Rankin and great defensive commitment from Chris Davidson.

 

The div 1 men began to run the bench early seeing every player get in the game finishing ahead 22-11 at the end of the first quarter.

 

The second quarter saw some aggressive play from Yann Siewe, Jack Mclean, Adam Cooper and Jed Hawksworth followed by a great effort from Grahame Miller. At the end of the half the Colliers led 39-30.

 

In the third the Buddies went on a run bringing the game back within two points however the Colliers kept it together scoring big by Jay Runga, Hunter and Lynn finishing the 3rd up 53-49.

 

The Colliers out scored the Buddies 22-18 in the 4th quarter led by Lynn, Hunter and some critical scoring by Jack Mclean.

 

Michael Lynn top scored for the Colliers with 21 points followed by with Graham Hunter with 18 points and team captain Jay Runga added 12 points.

 

FINAL SCORE:   SL Colliers 75 – 67 WCS Buddies

 

Jack McLean commented: “thanks to strong team work and our ability to move the ball, we were able to get a strong start into the game.”

 

“As the game progressed in the 4th and our team spirit started to drop, we were able to pick each other up and finish with a strong win.”

 

The Div 1 Men’s next game is on Wednesday on the 30th of March against Glasgow Storm at St Thomas Aquinas Secondary in Glasgow, 7:15pm tip off.
