The Colliers warmed up with a friendly against Glasgow Fever team 1 & 2 mix; it was a close game from start to finish with the Colliers just edging it in the end.

The warm up game set the youngsters up well for the first game against a tough Glasgow City team. The Colliers came out strong in the first half with good scoring from LJ Milligan and fast breaks from Carter Yuill and John O'Boyle.

In the 3rd quarter City pulled it back however the Colliers withstood the storm and closed the game out in the fourth with good defense and rebounding from the whole team seeing Colliers win 27-16.

Next up was Glasgow Fever 3, another great performance by the youngsters dominating from start to finish winning the game by 22 points and only conceding 2 baskets, the final score was 26-4.

The next game was against St Mirren, Coach James Ritchie said “he fully aware this would be our biggest test yet, our team showed great heart and hustle finishing the half on even terms thanks to a long range buzzer beater from LJ Milligan.”

However with such a large squad and plenty of substitutions St Mirren took advantage of the tiring Colliers team to see them open up a 14-point lead. The under 10s worked hard in the fourth but could only pull it back to an 8 point deficit losing 24-16.

The last game was another forfeit win due to Glasgow Cuckoos absence.

Head Coach on the day James Ritchie commented:  “it was a Successful day all round, 4 wins and 1 loss. My view - today we showed how far we've come in 1 year with a regular training and a growing team mentality we have caught up with the teams that were beating us last year.”

“I couldn't be more proud of the players today they had fun and with it strengthened the friendships that will grow as they work their way through the Colliers ranks.”
