Future Clubz Championship Final
March 26th, 2014
Hunter Primary took on Heatheryknowe Primary in the Championship Game to end the Colliers Future Clubz Programme 2014. Both teams won their respective pools earlier in the month so were matched up to play for the title.
Heatheryknowe started off the stronger team scoring first but it wasn't long until Hunter Primary kicked back with a couple of buckets to go into the half leading 4-2.
It was a very evenly contested game despite Hunter Primary taking a 6-2 lead down the stretch. However, Heatheryknowe fought back and managed to score twice in the dying seconds to take the game to overtime.
A 'golden basket' rule was in place meaning the team who scored first would win. After a minute and a half of end to end play, Hunter Primary had the ball out of bounds at the oppositions baseline, it was passed in to Stuart Barton who threw up a long range effort which went in.
Congratulations to both teams (and schools) for a fantastic end to the the programme.
