SBC Game Of The Week – Tayside Dominant At Home

Game of the Week took place in Dundee this weekend as Tayside Musketeers welcomed South Lanarkshire Colliers for the first time this season.

Having had a convincing start to the season, the home side were the favourites going in to the game against National League newcomers, South Lanarkshire Colliers.

Having already played a game the day before, Tayside showed no signs of fatigue as they got off to a flying start at both ends of the floor.

With their fast pace offence and strong inside defence, the Musketeers were able to open up a 19-5 first quarter lead and remained dominant for the rest of the game.

South Lanarkshire improved in the second quarter but still struggled to slow Tayside on the fast break. Entering half-time, Musketeers led 32-17.

Following the break, Tayside’s team defence put South Lanarkshire under pressure, forcing the visitors into making a number of mistakes, which were capitalised at the other end by the home side.

Leading 48-25 with 10 minutes left to play, Muskies were able to give some of their younger players an opportunity to take to the floor. Colliers continued to work hard in the fourth quarter despite the score-line.

Final score: Tayside Musketeers 65 – 34 South Lanarkshire Colliers.
