Promising First game for Senior Women

Senior Women National League

October 4th, 2015

 

The team started strong in the first five minutes of the game leading the score 8-2. Kats reacted quickly and the quarter finished on a close lead for them 16-13.

 

Kats played a 1-3-1 full court zone press that created a small panic to the team and could not react efficiently to the situation. Kats reached half time with an extended lead of 37 – 27.

 

Nerves were a factor for the Colliers players that where playing in their first national league game and Kool Kats Findlay amazing performance did not help.

 

After 30 minutes Kats extended the difference to 26 points. Colliers got on the court in the last quarter and showed that their potential by composing themselves and had a solid performance both offensively and defensively tying the quarter.

 

Rosie Barr was leading Colliers on offence and defence and her experience in National League games was valuable to her teammates.  

 

FINAL SCORE:   City of Edinburgh Koolkats 76 SL Colliers 53

 

Coach Maria Vasilaki commented: “This team has huge potential, the players have a great work ethic and support each other continuously.”

 

“Having our opening game against a very experienced team like Kats is not easy, however there were a lot of positives to take on-board and move on.”
