SL Colliers vs Glasgow City
SLBA Senior Men Div 1
March 28th, 2014
Final score: SL Colliers 98 - 63 Glasgow City
After a very convincing win at home for the Colliers against City when they last met in January this game was much the same. Colliers came out on fire scoring from inside and outside the three-point arc seeing City struggle to keep up with the Colliers finishing the first quarter 34-18.
However the second quarter saw a complacent Colliers struggle with City scoring more confidently and getting the Colliers into foul trouble finishing the half 53-36.
In the second half City again struggled to score with increasing defensive pressure from the motivated Colliers, which led to fast breaking opportunities in which the Colliers capitalised on.
Michael Lynn finished the game top scoring with 34 points, followed by a stand out performance from Luis Zambrano with 20 points, Ross Rankin had 18 points and Graham Hunter had 11.
Player/Head Coach Graham Hunter commented: “Another great result, we really have started to gel as a unit which is great heading towards our semi final against Troon.”
The Colliers next match will be held on the 6th of April at the Alistair McCoist Complex, EK at 8:15pm against Cumbernauld Chiefs.
