SL Colliers vs Glasgow Rocks
Sep 30th, 2014 @ Langside College
SLBA Mens Div 1
Final score: SL Colliers 40-78 Glasgow Rocks
The Colliers Div 1 men travelled to Langside College for their season opener against the Glasgow Rocks. The Colliers got off to sluggish start unable to score and poor defensively. After a 5 for 5 Rocks substitution near the end of the first the Colliers perked up and went on a run closing the gap showing glimpses of team unity defensively and offensively, however this was short lived as the Rocks regained momentum of the game.
The Colliers came out in the second half again showing positive signs of starting a come back however again the Colliers defence was poor and again unable to score on the offensive end.
This was a very poor performance for the team with on 8 players playing on the night. Player/Coach Graham Hunter top scored with 12 points followed by Michael Lynn with 9 points.
Graham commented: “it was a very disappointing start to the season, however it was expected to be honest with such a poor preseason and approach to training from the squad, I hope this is the kick we need to get us back on track.”
