The under 14 boy's travelled to Notre Dame Secondary in Glasgow's West End for to take part at Glasgow Fever's Under 14 pre season tournament. The boys were nervous on arrival as for some of them it was there first competitive game of Basketball.
GAME 1
The Colliers started well concentrating on keeping the more experienced Wolves at bay in the first half with sucess scoring from fast break baskets with Aedan Kelly beating his man several times, Matthew Bell making some vital steels and Jonathan Scott and Stuart Barton getting plenty of rebounds. Unfortunately the Colliers couldnt make their chances count and finished the half trailing 16–4.
The second half much like the first half saw nerves having a big part to play for the team adjusting to play at this level. The Colliers defence still proved hard to break down and the game finished 29-6.
FINAL SCORE: SL Colliers 6 WL Wolves 29
Coach James Ritchie commented: “The boys were really nervous heading into this game and although we lost there were plenty of positives to take giving us great belief that with a little work this squad could do really well.”
GAME 2
The boys hit the floor running after shaking off the nerves from the first game, the young Colliers scored from mulitple fast break opportunities with everyone working hard on defence closing the half out with a score of 19–5.
In the second half Coach Ritchie eased of a little trying to conserve energy making sure everyone got plenty of court time, the Chiefs pulled it back to a 7 point gap at one stage, but the Colliers upped their efforts to finish the game with their first win.

Coach James Ritchie commented: “we really showed what we are capable of in the first half, if we can keep that energy going for a full game we'll be a tough match up for anyone”.
GAME 3
Riding high on our new found confidence the Colliers went into their final tournament game feeling like they could beat anyone. It didnt take long for the confidence to turn into points as Colliers scored almost at will pushing the pace and getting almost every rebound ending the half with a comanding 35-11 lead.
For the Second half Coach Ritchie decided he wanted everyone to get on the score sheet, again wave after wave of attack looking for anyone that hadn't already scored.
