Colliers make it to Anderson Cup final

April 27th, 2014

The 27th of April saw the Colliers division 1 men and club as a whole reach their first Cup Final at Bellahouston sports centre, Glasgow against Glasgow Storm. The game was due to be a great clash with each team winning a game each against each other in the regular season.

Collier Div 1 beat Tornadoes in Semi

April 14th, 2014

The build up to the game became intense with the semi final bringing in the biggest crowd of the year so far. Colliers won the tip off and immediately went to work playing great team offence getting everyone involved leading to a winning first quarter 18-11.

 

 

Colliers have convincing win against Chiefs

April 6th, 2014

After the first game being cancelled the Colliers hosted the Cumbernauld Chiefs again to ensure that the game was played before the end of the regular season.

Colliers defeat Glasgow City away!

March 28th, 2014

After a very convincing win at home for the Colliers against City when they last met in January this game was much the same. 

Big win at home beating the Tornadoes

March 19th, 2014

After a tough loss to the Troon Tornadoes the previous week the Colliers were out for revenge however the game got off to a slow start as Troon worked well as a team and finished the first quarter 17-9.

Hard fought win away at Oatlands

March 25th, 2014

For the home team playing out of Notre Dame High School in Glasgow’s West it was the last game of the season, which they clearly aimed to go out with a win. The Colliers came out red-hot playing tough defence and all of the starting five players scoring multiple times leading the first quarter 26-18.

March 10th, 2014

The Colliers started off very poor and in fact found it hard to get out the hole they dug losing the first quarter 16-7.

 

Troon dominated the game by out rebounding the Colliers on just about every missed shot, this led to second and third attempt shots for Troon, which saw the Colliers, fall further behind.

From the jump ball this proved to be a physical match up between the Colliers and the Glasgow based Oatlands team.

After almost a full month off since the last game against Glasgow City and missing Captain Scott Russell the Colliers got off to a slow start as result from poor decision-making.

Colliers Div 1 Men come up short

After a big loss to the Rocks in there first meeting of the season the Colliers were out for revenge and from the start of the game it looked as though the Colliers were on form to make that happen.

Hard loss against Rocks away

December 17th, 2013

From the jump ball the Rocks got off to a great start beating the Colliers down the floor, fast breaking with ease. The Colliers had their poorest start of the season so far and it was evident they hadn't yet gelled as a team.

 

Close loss at home against Storm

December 11th, 2013

This was the Colliers first real test facing Glasgow Storm who also play in the Scottish National League which the Colliers proved they were up to the challenge despite a close loss.

Anderson Cup first win!

November 27th, 2013

The Colliers div 1 men took to their home court with early domination in the 2nd round of the Anderson Cup against the St Mirren WCS Buddies with impressive shooting and defence finishing up the first quarter 28-12.

First home game success against Falcons

October 30, 2013

It was the first home game of the season for the Collier Division 1 Men at the Alistair McCoist Complex East Kilbride facing the North Lanarkshire Falcons.
 
The Colliers dominated the game from the tip off scoring 10 unanswered points producing a convincing first quarter finishing 17-7.

First game success for the Colliers

October 10th, 2013

7 South Lanarkshire Collier’s players travelled to Scotstoun Leisure Centre for the season opener to face Glasgow University basketball club. Right from the jump ball the Collier men controlled the tempo of the game with tough defence and patient offence.
